Sewgnar was started by a sister team based in Oakland, CA. We design and sew active wear for both land and water use. Each one of us not only have an art degree, but also grew up on the north coast of Long Island, NY and spent our childhood on the beaches and in the water. Currently we both continue our love for the outdoors by scuba diving, snorkeling and exploring nature as much as possible. Our current original fabric designs are inspired by creatures we encounter, or hope to encounter, who inhabit our vast Oceans. They range from the smallest of Nudibranchs to the largest fish, the Whale Shark. Each garment is a wearable piece of art that encourages the importance of conservation. We hope to share our experiences through our designs and educate our clients and communities on the beauty that lies above and below the surface of the waves. Hopefully together we can begin the journey towards a cleaner, environmentally sustainable future.
At Sewgnar our goal is not only to raise awareness of our fragile ecosystem, but to also provide custom products for all shapes and sizes. Each piece is hand cut and sewn one at a time made especially just for your order. We love to customize and welcome any and all modifications. Drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your next order.
