My mission is to create timeless, handcrafted accessories and sewing patterns using sustainable materials and thoughtful, intentional design.

I’m a self-taught seamstress with over 30 years of experience, passionate about helping others build confidence and creativity through sewing. From my studio in Greer, SC, I design functional, stylish pieces as a one-woman business. My journey began with a handmade clothing line that grew into SewGnar, an eco-friendly accessories brand focused on sustainable textiles.

 

In 2018, I shifted from teaching preschool to running my business full-time and began turning my finished sewing projects into patterns. Today, I teach at sewing expos, workshops, and on YouTube, sharing practical sewing techniques for makers of all skill levels.

 

A signature material in my work is cork fabric, sustainably harvested in Spain from the Quercus Suber oak tree, an eco-friendly, durable, and beautiful alternative to traditional materials. [Read more about cork here]

 

Sustainability guides everything I do. I’m passionate about supporting eco-friendly practices and women-led small businesses that prioritize fair trade and livable wages.
